Pir Panchal Region state’s symbol for composite culture and tolerance : Sartaj Madni | KNO

Peoples Democratic Party Vice President Mohmmad Sartaj Madni said that Pir Panchal Region has enjoyed pivotal role in shaping the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir state and the sacrifices offered by the people for integrity and mutual brotherhood remains a valuable asset which future generations can take pride in.

Addressing a huge gathering at third leg of his tour of the Districts of Poonch and Rajouri , Madani said that despite patition woes and  sufferings resulting out of spells of hostility and confrontation between India and Pakistan , people have shown tremendous resilience to defeat communal politics and incongenial atmosphere.

Accompanied by two cabinet ministers , Choudhry Zulfikar , Abdul Haq Khan , local MLA Choudhry Qamaruddin and Party District President Aejaz Mirza , he took pride in the traiditions of the region which contribute to the composite culture of the state and value- based politics.

He said that it is because of the overall psyche of the region’s masses that Peoples Democratic Party flourished here and party leadership emulates from the devotion of its workers. Madani said the hard work of the people of Rajouri and there nomadic ethos enrichenes our economy and civilization.

Madani said that Mufti Mohmmad Syed had love for the region and remained wedded to its development and progress all his life.  He said establishing Baba Gulam Shah University was his cherished dream  accomplished to lift the region at social and educational level. Similarly , Mehboobaji is taking personal interest is addressing the important issues including peace at borders and emotional issues which are a backlog of partition.

Madani said the PDP’s representatives from the two districts have made a niche and are contributors to state politics and culture.

Choudhry Zulfikar , Minister for Consumer Affairs and Information in his address said that present dispensation headed by Mehboobaji has generously contributed to development of the region and  flow of funds is changing its face. He referred to availability of essential commodities at cheaper rates under more rational schemes and said , services are available at door step , unhindered. Zulfikar said that similarly rural development and tribal development  are two focused sectors , which have elevated the rural life.

Abdul Haq Khan , minister for rural development said that he has frequently visited the region at the behest of Chief Minister to personally monitor the development. He said he draws satisfaction from the fact that local administration remains on tenter-hooks for providing relief to people. Haq said that Chief Minister is very disturbed at casualties resulting from border skirmishes and is doing her best to see that people donot suffer any more from Indo-Pak confrontation.

Choudhry Qamardin , the local MLA highlighted problems of his constituency and the region and hoped that PDP-led Government will strive for redressal. District President Aijaz Mirza , and Senior leader  Ab Qayoom Dar also spoke on this occasion.
